overview : This five-bay Federal style house was built in 1819, the same year Alabama became a state. - It changed hands several times before Dr. Weeden bought and completed it in 1845. Dr. Weeden's youngest daughter, Maria Howard Weeden, an artist and poet, was born in this house in 1846.
