overview : The frequently revised permanent installations are arranged both chronologically and, where appropriate-thematically, in order to maximize humanistic concepts. Both permanent and temporary exhibitions are interpreted through publications (brochures and gallery guides), didactic materials, frequent tours, lectures, films, and other public programs.

collections : The Museum's collection numbers more than 14,000 artifacts and artworks. It is strong in classical and Near Eastern art and archaeology, European and American art from the fifteenth century to the present, and South Asian art. Smaller, but still significant parts of the collection cover ancient Egyptian, Byzantine, East Asian, African, and Pre-Columbian art.
