overview : The UCLA Ocean Discovery Center at the Santa Monica Pier is a marine science learning center and aquarium serving K-12 classes from schools in the greater Los Angeles area as well as the general public. We use interactive lessons and activities to introduce students to the basic concepts of marine environmental studies, marine biology, oceanography. The Ocean Discovery Center is also open to the public, using the same conceptual approach to teach visitors about their connections to Santa Monica Bay and ways to conserve our oceans.
