overview : The Tuskegee Airmen National Historical Museum is located on historic Fort Wayne in Detroit, Michigan. The city of Detroit donated and renovated the building that houses the museum. It is open year around, Wednesday through Sunday, from 9:00am to 5:00pm. - It provides a fitting place to display the memorabilia of the gallant Airmen who rose to the defense of our Nation at a time in our history when they could not receive equal treatment.
