overview : The Nevada County Depot and Museum is located in the restored and renovated 1912 MoPac Railroad Depot .. The Exhibit Hall is on the north end of the building where the railroad waiting rooms and ticket areas were located. This is the part of the building that has been open to the public in the past .. Exhibits include a presentation on the Louisiana Purchase of April 1803, Indian pottery, information about early settlements and settlers of Nevada County, and various collections pertaining to the Civil War, agriculture and railroads, electric meters, and fire fighting equipment.
