overview : The Mission of Earthplace is to educate the community about nature and the environment and about ways of taking action to preserve, protect and enjoy nature and the environment. Founded in 1958 and accredited by The American Association of Museums, Earthplace is a multi-faceted organization consisting of a state licensed nursery school, environmental education opportunities offered to schools, organizations and the public.

collections : Includes the Mary Eason Swett Wildlife Rehabilitation and Animal Care Program, a natural history museum, the Harbor Watch / River Watch Program and state licensed environmental laboratory, and a 62-acre wildlife sanctuary.
