overview : Begun in the Texas panhandle town of Hereford in 1975. The National Cowgirl Museum & Hall of Fame is the only museum in the world dedicated to honoring and documenting the lives of women who have distinguished themselves while exemplifying the pioneer spirit of the American West. - The group of women honored are as diverse in their achievements. From Narcissa Prentiss Whitman the first pioneer woman to cross the Rockies, to renowned artist Georgia O'Keeffe & legendary eight time world champion cowgirl Tad Lucas, to name just a few.

hours (subject to change) : Tuesdays 10am – 8pm, Wednesdays – Saturdays 10am – 5pm, Sundays – 12noon – 5pm, Closed Mondays and special holidays
