The Whaling Museum is open year round and features artifacts from Nantucket's days as a nineteenth century whaling empire. Other properties are open seasonally and include the Peter Foulger Museum, the Hadwen House, the Oldest House, the Old Mill, the Old Gaol and the Hose-Cart House. The NHA also operates a research library, which is open year round. collections : The NHA collection represents many definitive aspects of Nantucket's history, such as, whaling, land and sea transportation, Quaker religion, fine and decorative arts, farming, commerce and architecture. The research library contains more than 45,000 photographs, thousands of book and manuscripts, including an outstanding collection of whaleship logs. hours (subject to change) : Research Library - 10 am to 4 pm Whaling Museum - Saturday and Sunday 11 a.m. - 4 p.m. through Dec. 29th Saturday and Sunday 1 - 4 p.m. Jan 4 - March 30.
