overview : A National Historic Landmark, Mount Clare is a Georgian mansion built in 1760 by Charles Carroll, Barrister. Mount Clare houses an impressive collection of 18th and early 19th century furnishings and decorative arts belonging to the Barrister, his wife, Margaret Tilghman Carroll, and their heirs.

collections : 18th & early 19th century furniture and decorative arts. Works by Charles Willson Peale, Robert Feke, and John Hesselius. Rare Chinese porcelain, fine English silver.

hours (subject to change) : Tuesday – Saturday beginning at 10:00 a.m., guided tours on the hour, last tour at 3:00 p.m. Closed Sunday & Monday. Call for group reservations.
