overview : At Madame Tussaud's New York, not only are you able to mingle with nearly 200 amazingly life-like wax figures, but you may just find yourself seeing double - Born Marie Grosholtz in 1761, two months after her father was killed in the Franco-Prussian war, the young Madame Tussaud learned her skills from her mother's employer, Philippe Curtius. A doctor, with a talent for wax modeling, Curtius became her mentor and guardian. It was Curtius who introduced Marie to some of the leading luminaries of the time.
