overview : Louis E. May Museum is a twenty-five room mansion built in 1874 by Fremont's first mayor, Theron Nye. The museum includes a general store display, one room school house, a library research room, a formal rose garden and Victorian garden with bricklined paths. - The offices of the Dodge County Historical Society are housed within the May Museum. The DCHS is the primary institution with responsibility to collect, preserve, research, and interpret objects, artifacts, documents, published materials, and sites relating to Dodge County, Nebraska's heritage and its cultural and built environment.

hours (subject to change) : April-December Wednesday - Sunday 1:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. Last tour starts at 3:45 p.m. . Closed on holidays . Closed Sundays in April, Sept, Oct, and Nov.
