overview : The Kalmar Nyckel Foundation is the premier maritime-based educational organization which demonstrates the values of trust, teamworand self-discipline by offering the public opportunities to participate in programs centered on the building, sailing, and preservation of Delaware's Tall Ship Ambassador, the Kalmar Nyckel.
collections : The Foundation offers opportunities in business, education and tourism to increase the visibility of Delaware's location, heritage, and attractions Shipboard, shipyard and other experiential education programs om pertinent historic, scientific, social, environmental and cultural topics. Recreational experiences that enhance the participants' appreciation for both the values that the ship represents and the places she visits. The Kalmar Nyckel visits Ports up and down the East Coast from May to October. She carries 49 passengers and is available for charter sails and dockside events. in addition she appears at various festivals and offers a sailing schedule for the general public.
