overview : Built in 1639, the Henry Whitfield House served as the home of Guilford's Puritan minister Henry Whitfield and his family when the town was first settled by the English. Today, a National Historic Landmark, it is Connecticut's oldest house and New England's oldest stone house. Visitors tour three floors of 17th - 19th century furnishings in the house, plus changing exhibits, a research library, gift shop, and tourist information center in the museum's Visitor Center.
