overview : The permanent collection of the Met features a large exhibition on the life and works of Fresno's William Saroyan, Pulitzer and Oscar-winning author, who grew up a few blocks away from the Met's current location.

collections : The Met owns the largest institutional collection of antique puzzles in the United States. In addition part of the museum's permanent collection include paintings from the exquisite Salzer Collection, more than 150 Native American baskets and cradleboards of the Yokut and Mono cultures, Japanese and Chinese screens, paintings, snuff bottles and ceramics.
