overview : Fairlawn Mansion and Museum, built in 1889 by Superior's three-time mayor Martin Pattison, is an ideal example of Queen Anne Victorian architecture. A lumber and mining baron, Pattison built this 42-room mansion to be used as the family residence from 1891 until 1920. The mansion also has a unique 42-year history as the Superior Children's Home and Refuge.
