Home of Marshall Ensor (1899-1970) a teacher for 46 years and long time early ham radio operator. Winner of 1940 Paley Award for outstanding aid to our country for teaching code lessons for 10 years to nearly 10,000 listeners via the radio. Antiques include early amateur radio equipment and much other articles of woodwork and effects from other manual arts subjects, all made by Mr. Ensor. Home base of M.E.M.O. (Marshall Ensor Memorial Organization) - We are now a National Historic site, and the Register of Historic Kansas places. collections : Early amateur radio equipment of notable importance. Sterling trophy by artist "Alexander Calder". Much handmade textile work including 'tatting', woven rugs, quilts and other fabrics. Handpainted pictures on glass and tin. Much crafted woodwork and furniture. hours (subject to change) : Open in summer months generally May through October. (May vary). Saturday and Sunday 1:00 to 5:00 PM. Also groups by appointment.
