overview : House and a nearby barn were linked by an escape tunnel that was used by the Dalton Gang. - The house still stands as originally built in 1887, however, the tunnel has been restored and enlarged and the barn has been rebuilt. The barn now houses a museum. The Hideout and Escape Tunnel are four blocks south of US 54 in Meade and is visited by thousands of people every year.
