overview : CCM is non-profit, volunteer-run, community-based. In addition to the hands-on exhibits, there are scheduled programs and group visits stressing hands-on learning. CCM provides outreach workshops to schools, scout groups, public festivals, etc. Our Museum Education On Wheels - the MEOW bus - brings hands-on fun to children in their own neighborhoods and at special events.
collections : Chesapeake Children's Museum is located in the Spa Creek Conservancy at the head of Spa Creek. The park includes woodlands and wetlands, with abundant wildlife. The museum houses the following hands-on exhibits: Maryland Dinosaurs (temporary exhibit), Hard Hats, Watermen, Bay Window, Around the World (currently in Colombia), Express Yourself, Body Works and Center Stage.
hours (subject to change) : Open daily except Wednesdays, 10 am to 4 pm. Summer hours, 10 am to 5 pm. Wednesdays are for groups of 10 or more by reservation. Groups can also reserve for other times, including evenings.
