overview : The Central Wisconsin Children’s Museum is a family-based discovery place where children and adults play and explore life together to strengthen confidence, capabilities and creativity through hands-on investigation.

collections : CWCM is filled with hands-on exhibits designed for children 6 months to 12 years and their caregivers. "Life in a Log" gives children a bug’s eye view of a fallen log as a habitat. Many hands-on activities and a giant 8-foot “log” help children see forest life cycles and explore with creatures living inside decaying logs. Basic American Foods "Farm to Market" allows visitors to explore the journey of local vegetables from farm to market. The area includes a garden space, trucks for food delivery, a market area with foods from all food groups and a grocery store with a cash register and shopping carts. "In the Nest" is a specially designed area for our youngest visitors ages 6 months through three years. Many developmentally appropriate activities—including peephole birdhouses, 3-D puzzle plants, a learn-your-colors ball drop and more—are built into the nest structure. "Make It Paper" is a fully stocked art room area giving children the space and tools to create anything they can imagine. Special projects and activities change weekly.
