overview : Located on the Erie Canal, the Museum is housed in an 1860 canal-era building filled with authentic memorabilia as well as exhibits on local businesses. Guided group tours are available upon request. The museum is located on Catherine Street in Canastota.

collections : Artifacts pertaining to the early days of the Canal and its influence on the development of the area. -The site selected, which had housed a bakery and residence in the 19th century, is one of the oldest structures on Canal Street, a building that was here during the Canal's busiest years. It is filled with authentic canal memorabilia as well as exhibits on local businesses.
