overview : The Campus Martius Museum is the Ohio Historical Society's interpretive center for the history of settlement and migration in Ohio, spanning the period from 1780 to 1970. Museum exhibits explain how three important waves of migration helped make Ohio the economically and culturally diverse state it is today.

collections : Exhibits focus on the establishment of Marietta in 1788. Visitors witness the challenges that confronted the Ohio Company of Associates' new settlement on the banks of the Muskingum River. Exhibits include General Rufus Putnam's original home, many artifacts from the original settlement and other objects pertaining to Marietta's history.
