The museum tells the story of this global history of beads that goes as far back as 30,000 B.C.E. This unique specialist museum was founded in 1984 by Gabreille Liese and houses an international collection of over 100,000 beads, and beaded artifacts. The museum provides changing exhibitions and an extensive education and outreach program of lectures, tours, and classes for the visitor. The museum store, Accent on Beads, sells a wide range of publications on beads and related subjects, bead supplies to the beadworker and crafter, and specialist beads for the collector.
