overview : The Austin-Whittemore House has been a jewel in the Vermillion area since its construction in 1882. The Italiante Villa-style house passed through several generations and in 1970 it was donated to the Clay County Historical Society. Today the house is loaded with various displays, and is used by the Clay County Historical Society to host a number of activities.
