overview : The Museum interprets both natural history and ethnology collection to the people of Malawi through its main exhibition hall. Public programming includes guided tours, lectures, film screenings, traditional dances, contemporary music, drama, and museum-related excursions.

collections : There is also a large collection of insects and an exhibit on geological samples including the machinga meteorite of 1981. In the main hall is the ethnology section where exhibits trace the history of humankind in Malawi from pre-history to the era of independence.
