overview : The Museum of Lighthouse History is owned and operated by the American Lighthouse Foundation. The museum is located next door to Lighthouse Depot in Wells, Maine in space that is donated by Lighthouse Depot. - The museum has a large collection of artifacts of the U.S. Lighthouse Service and the U.S. Coast Guard. On display are a wide variety of lighthouse lenses, fog bells, dinnerware, documents, badges, photographs and more. There is also a large collection of items showing how lighthouses have been used in advertising to promote products over the years. This is an educational experience for the whole family.
