overview : South Hadley Old Firehouse Museum was founded in 1975. The Old Firehouse, built in 1889, is the Historical Society headquarters and contains two floors of exhibits representing local history. Other associated historic sites are nearby Canal Park on the scenic Connecticut River, and Sycamores House at the Town Common.

collections : The Old Firehouse Museum lower exhibit contains a permanent collection of fire fighting apparatus, fire pumpers and fire engines, canal history, and Connecticut River Valley artifacts. The upper exhibits consist of a permanent collection of early domestic, agricultural and commercial furnishings, and a changing exhibit.
