overview : Experience one of the most complete collections of Ute Indian artifacts in the nation. Dioramas, changing exhibits, and hands-on programs bring the history of the vital American Indian communities to life. Among the most noted figures are Chief Ouray and his wife Chipeta, Ignacio, Colorow, and Buckskin Charley. The grounds include the Ouray Memorial Park and the graves of Chipeta, and her brother John McCook.
