overview : The Museum of African Culture (MAC) is a 501(c)(3) organization created to educate others about the lives and beliefs of Sub-Saharan African people, to interpret and preserve a unique collection of African art and artifacts, and to enrich the communities of Maine and beyond through the celebration of diversity. - MACs outreach includes childrens programs with hundreds of schools and families in New England, adult education through college and university lectures and courses, senior group programs in clubs and resident homes, and teacher and social service workshops with private and state institutions throughout Maine.
hours (subject to change) : Open Tuesday through Friday 10:30 - 4:00 Saturdays 12:30-4:00PM or by special appointment.
